To build a tower and two faux peaks to recreate the look and feel of the original building. The original building built in 1883 had three stories and a tower with two peaks on each side.
First we had to decide what materials to use. Immediately we decided to start with a steel frame ensuring a sturdy, solid foundation to build on. Next we applied plywood to the framework and covered it with stucco topcoat. Details such as the Bas Relief pieces were designed in CAD to match the existing designs on the building, which, then were cutout of steel and primed. They were attached to the structure and each piece was hand sculpted using a special technique. Once the structure was completed we matched the color of the limestone building with outdoor paints and aged it to match the building. Finally, we applied a copper roof. We also created the steel balcony and railing on the front corner.
